About Aviation Academy Austria
Aviation Academy Austria is a pilot training company in Austria. It trains airline pilots at its Pilot Academy in Wiener Neustadt and runs full flight simulator courses at its training centre in Neusiedl am See. Its customers are airlines and business aviation operators.
The company says each pilot has different goals, experience and knowledge. It builds individual training plans to fit each pilot and each operator. The training covers the whole path, from the first flying hour on a single-engine propeller aircraft to type ratings on passenger jets. Its courses build pilots' skills and add to air safety.
The Pilot Academy offers an integrated ATPL course, and an integrated ATPL course for people who already hold a private pilot licence. Students learn the manners and behaviour of a professional pilot from day one. In May 2026, Diamond Aircraft, the maker of the school's training fleet, named the academy an official Diamond Authorized Training Center.
For airlines, the academy offers cadet pilot schemes that it adjusts to each airline's needs. The key steps include a first assessment before training, with an interview, career planning and aeronautical psychology tests. Training is integrated and uses continuous evaluation with elements of competency based training. Other steps are a recommendation letter system, SOP and APS MCC training on an Airbus A320 simulator, jet orientation training for airliner aircraft, and IFR training in a LOFT structure.
The academy also keeps a pool of qualified pilots for operators who need crew. It can supply type-rated first officers or experienced pilots. They can work full time, part time, as freelancers or at short notice.
The simulator centre offers type training and dry lease for the ATR 42-320 and 72-500, the ATR 72-600, the Bombardier Challenger 350 and 3500, the Challenger 650, the Cessna 525 and the Cessna 560 XLS and XLS+. A course calendar lists coming courses.
The group includes Aviation Academy Austria GmbH, Aviation Academy Simulation GmbH and Aviation Flight Center GmbH. The academy attends events such as Pilot Careers Live in Frankfurt and has its own podcast for people who want a pilot career.
