DHD Flighttraining

DHD Flighttraining is a helicopter flight school in Hamburg, Germany. Its practical flight training takes place mainly at its own training centre in Hamburg. The school trains pilots for private and professional licences and also offers further training for existing licence holders.

The company is an Approved Training Organisation, certified under European Commission Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011. Its certificate covers type rating training, night rating and preparation for multi-engine helicopters. It also covers licences for the light aircraft, private and commercial pilot and for the helicopter airline transport pilot.

The school offers the Light Aircraft Pilot Licence LAPL(H), the private pilot licence PPL(H), the commercial pilot licence CPL(H), and the helicopter airline transport pilot licence ATPL(H) under VFR or IFR. It also offers the instrument rating IR(H), so pilots can fly in weather with reference to instruments.

Type ratings and proficiency checks are offered for several helicopter types, including the Hu269, ENF28, Hu369, MD500N and 600N, Bell 206 and the AS 350 and EC 130. Pilots can revalidate their type ratings at the school.

DHD also helps pilots convert licences that were issued in other countries, for example an FAA helicopter licence. Further training includes international flights, radio navigation, emergency procedures, night flights and flying in the mountains.

The flight instructors have worked in commercial and private aviation for many years. Some are recognised as examiners by aviation authorities in Germany and other European countries. The authorities audit them regularly, which the school says keeps training at a uniform and high standard.
