History

The company's timeline traces metals roots to 1937 and says Olympic Aviation was founded in 1968 and MetalMart International in 1974. Olympic began doing business as Olympic Aviation in 1983, achieved ISO 9120 certification in 2006 and AS9100 certification in 2020, and moved to Cerritos, California in 2008. MetalMart moved to a 29,000 square foot facility in Commerce, California in 2004. Olympic Aviation and MetalMart combined to form OMI Specialty Products in 2024.
