About Amexci

AMEXCI is a Nordic company that makes metal parts by 3D printing for serial production. It has sites in Örebro, Sweden, and in Lempäälä, near Tampere, Finland.

The company was founded in 2017 in Karlskoga, Sweden, by major Nordic industrial firms. They wanted a shared way to adopt additive manufacturing faster. AMEXCI opened its Finnish subsidiary in 2021. At the end of 2024 it moved its Swedish production into a new factory in Örebro. It says it was set up for production rather than one-off prototypes.

AMEXCI prints with laser powder bed fusion. It runs six machines across its two sites: three EOS M 290 machines and three from Nikon SLM Solutions, including a 12-laser machine. Parts can be as large as 600 by 600 by 600 millimetres. Every build has powder traceability and batch records, and the machines use in-process optical tomography and powder bed imaging.

It prints in aluminium, titanium, stainless and tool steels, and nickel-based superalloys. These include AlSi10Mg, Ti6Al4V, 316L, 17-4PH, Maraging Steel MS1, Inconel 718, Inconel 625 and Hastelloy X.

The company also covers the steps before and after printing. Its services are design review, metal 3D printing, post processing, inspection and material testing. Post processing includes heat treatment, CNC milling, turning, wire EDM and grinding. Inspection includes CMM and optical scanning, geometric tolerance checks and first article inspection reports. Testing covers tensile, fatigue, hardness and microstructure work.

AMEXCI says it holds AS9100D for aerospace, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 for automotive. Its materials laboratory is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by SWEDAC for tensile, impact and hardness tests. It serves aerospace, automotive, energy, defence, motorsport and space customers. Examples include a combustion chamber for Pythom Space printed as one piece. This removed 64 braze joints and cut lead time by 80 percent. It also printed the first suppressor made in Sweden for a SIG SAUER machine gun.
