Layher

Layher is a German family-owned manufacturer of system scaffolding with more than 75 years of scaffolding experience, supplying customers worldwide under the promise of making work at height simpler, faster and safer. Its integrated system combines the Allround modular scaffold, the Blitz frame scaffold, the AGS system, protection systems, event systems and the TG 60 shoring system with application-specific components, consulting, training and digital services, and the company describes highly automated production and strict quality management as the basis for guaranteed quality and security of supply. Layher manufactures but does not erect scaffolding, working through a partnership model with scaffolding contractors.

Aircraft maintenance scaffolding

• Allround scaffold docking systems for aircraft maintenance, designed for demanding applications where traditional scaffolding reaches its structural and economic limits, with modular construction adaptable to every aircraft type
• Height adjustment for flexible access, mobile modules that can be positioned, docked and undocked quickly, and fully decked working platforms with stairs for comfortable, safe working conditions
• Tail docks giving safe access for repair, painting and maintenance of the horizontal stabiliser and rudder, wing docks that adapt to wing dihedral for access to flaps and fuel systems with cut-outs for engines, and fuselage docks built as compact rolling structures or complete docks around the whole fuselage, including access for fitting Wi-Fi units
• Collision-free 3D planning of aircraft docking systems using Layher's Scaffolding Information Modeling (SIM) and LayPLAN software, with realistic visualisation to coordinate maintenance, repair, inspection and overhaul work with other trades and keep costs transparent

• Industrial scaffolding for chemical, petrochemical, energy and mining plants, shipbuilding and oil and gas, where fast assembly minimises downtime, as well as facade scaffolding for trades such as roofers, painters, carpenters and plasterers, and bridge refurbishment projects such as the Forth Road Bridge in Scotland
• Digital services including LayPLAN CAD for AutoCAD and BricsCAD, LayPLAN CLASSIC, LayPLAN TO RSTAB structural analysis, a material manager, a Layher app and the myLayher customer portal
• Product innovations such as the FlexBeam aluminium beam, winner of an ICE Award for best product innovation, and the Allround U transom with claw and wedge head
