AEE Aircraft Electronic Engineering GmbH
Custom certified electronics for aerospace systems in Germany
About AEE Aircraft Electronic Engineering
AEE Aircraft Electronic Engineering GmbH develops, builds and maintains avionics for aircraft and other aerospace systems. The head office is in Wessling, Bavaria, Germany, and the company runs a software hub in Augsburg. It describes itself as a single partner that covers a whole avionics project.
The work starts with project planning and engineering, from requirements to detailed design. The company works to standards such as ARP4754B, ARP4761A, DO-254, DO-178C and DO-160G. It then supports certification, production and long term service. Lifecycle support covers customer support, maintenance and spare parts management.
AEE also builds hardware for customers that already have a design. Under its Part 21G and EN9100:2018 approvals, it can take a concept from prototype to series production. Each product is documented and traceable and ships with an EASA Form 1 release certificate. The company notes that other authorities, such as the FAA, recognise this certificate through bilateral agreements.
AEE's own product range includes the MIAU, a mini-interface for actuator units. It also has a next-generation data concentrator unit, an analogue version of that unit, and a flight control computer. Another product is the SIHS 2000 NG, a stereo infrared headset system. The company also lists rotary actuators and in-flight devices.
AEE holds EASA Part 21G production approval, EASA Part 145 maintenance approval and EN9100:2018 quality certification. It also lists an EASA Part 21 design organisation approval. Together these cover the design, production and maintenance of avionics.
Customers and partners include Heli-One in Norway, which counts AEE in its supply chain, and the engineering firms AVILUS and BERNS Engineers. AEE also works with the Technical University of Munich and the Universität der Bundeswehr München. In October 2026 it announced that its MIAU 1000 platform will be used in the Cavorite X7 hybrid-electric VTOL aircraft from Horizon Aircraft.
AEE showed at ILA Berlin 2026 and is a member of bavAIRia, FED and BDLI.
