About Jettainer

Jettainer is a company that manages unit load devices, known as ULDs. ULDs are the containers and pallets used to load air cargo. The company was founded in 2004. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Cargo and part of the Lufthansa Group. Its site says it manages ULDs for nearly 30 airlines.

The company says it looks after more than 100,000 ULDs in 500 locations. It has 15 offices and about 60 repair shops, spread over Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia Pacific and the Americas. It names about 100 employees. Its team works with an independent repair network.

Jettainer offers several service packages. ULD Select is a package built around a client's needs. Plug and fly is described as a basic way into professional ULD management. Cool and fly covers temperature controlled containers. Lease and fly gives flexible ULD supply for airlines that need more units, for example in charter work or in busy periods.

The company also lists work on sustainability, a digital twin, skypooling and a product called squAIR-timber. It uses IoT tracking, big data and artificial intelligence to follow containers. The site names Trackonomy as the supplier of its tracking technology. It also reports a long-term partnership with IBS Software and a memorandum of understanding with ULD maker Hangyi.

JetHub is the company's ULD hub in central Europe. It is a warehouse of 18,000 square meters near Frankfurt. It runs day and night and can store up to 10,000 ULDs. A repair shop is on site.

The news section lists airline partners. They include GOL Linhas Aereas, Norse Atlantic Airways, Cebu Pacific, Wamos Air and Plus Ultra Lineas Aereas. Lufthansa Cargo is also named as an IoT pilot customer. The company also reports a prize in a ULD challenge at an IATA event.

The website has pages on ULD management, sustainability, the company, the management and sales teams, news and jobs. It also has a client login.
