About JB Roche

JB Roche designs and makes inflatable shelters and engine covers for aircraft maintenance. The company is based in Cork, Ireland, and its legal name is J.B. Roche (MFG) Ltd. It works for AOG teams, MROs, airlines and defence forces.

The site says that in 1999 the company invented and patented the first all fabric, precision fit inflatable aircraft hangar. Its main products are the IglooMX inflatable aircraft maintenance shelters and the FLASHPLUG jet engine covers. The shelters are meant for AOG recovery, line maintenance and work under the wing, and they can be put up in minutes. The engine covers seal intakes and exhausts to keep out foreign objects and control humidity. They are made for the A320, A350, B737, B777 and other types.

Other products include custom inflatable enclosures, preservation covers for engines, wings, landing gear and sensors, inflatable hangar door infills and dividers, mobile cleanrooms, large inflatable hangars and emergency medical tents. The company also makes habitats for the oil and gas industry and other specialised inflatables such as train test tunnels and flood barriers.

JB Roche says it works with technical textile makers to produce its own fabrics, which resist cold, heat, wind, rain, snow and dust. Customer comments on the site come from Air Transport International for a KC135 engine change shelter and from Alaska Airlines for a B737 engine change shelter in Cordova, Alaska.

The company is part of Amplex, a privately owned Swedish group that owns technology businesses in about 15 countries. The website has news articles, a careers page and links to LinkedIn, Facebook, X and Instagram.
