IER

IER is a French group that develops equipment and software for passenger and goods flows. It was established in 1962 and first specialised in printing. Over the years it has diversified into supply chain traceability, self-service equipment, and access control for pedestrians and vehicles.

The group's business units are IER Track and Trace, EASIER and Automatic Systems. Track and Trace provides traceability for goods, using RFID and Bluetooth tags, and offers asset management for reusable containers. EASIER is the brand for self-service equipment in air and land transport, including biometrics. Automatic Systems designs pedestrian and vehicle access control.

For airports and airlines, IER offers the Skycheck, a self-service check-in kiosk. Travellers can check in, print boarding passes and bag tags, and choose service options or upgrades. The kiosk is compatible with CUSS 1.5 and 2.0, so several airlines can share it, and it works with biometric solutions.

The Skycheck comes in a fixed version and a portable version with a battery. It can be customised in the colours of an airport or airline, and it is designed to help manage peaks in passenger numbers at terminals.

IER offers turnkey services with a project manager, proactive supervision, and first and second level support around the clock. Real time alert management helps raise the availability of its systems. Service is delivered by IER subsidiaries or through a network of local partners selected by the group.

The company says it works with major transport and airport customers. Logos of airlines, airports and rail operators appear among its customers, and it describes its expertise as covering technology, production and integration.

Its software is developed for warehouse traceability and asset management. IER Track and Trace offers tools for inventory, equipment security and fleet management, and it is developing support for the digital product passport that European regulation is introducing.
