Outsight

Outsight develops infrastructure-based spatial intelligence software that tracks the movement of people, vehicles and robots in real time using 3D LiDAR data. Its platform is deployed in airports, hospitals, factories and other large sites, where it captures, understands and predicts the physical flow of millions of individuals a year. The company describes this as digitising movement at scale.

How it works

Anonymous IDs are assigned to each person or object at the moment of entry and maintained with centimetre precision, without interruption, until exit; every action is recorded as an event. Data is processed in under 50 milliseconds, and the platform tracks millions of trajectories, behaviours and interactions per site. The resulting spatial data is turned into flows, bottlenecks, dwell times, asset usage and predictions, delivered through what Outsight calls a Motional Digital Twin: a live 3D replica with custom KPIs, alerts, dashboards and reports tailored to each role. Because it works from 3D data rather than video, the approach is presented as privacy-preserving.

Applications

• Airport operations: measuring wait times, dwell times and occupancy heatmaps in real time, anticipating queues and adapting staffing, flows and asset use
• Passenger experience: understanding each journey end to end and intervening at the right moment
• People counting, described on the site as the third generation of people counting technology
• Robotics: a partnership with Enchanted Tools gives Mirokai service robots premises-wide situational awareness, starting with hospitals and airports

Partnerships

Outsight was the spatial AI technology partner for the Airport of the Future exhibition at MWC 2026, and in April 2026 announced a collaboration with Intel to integrate its Shift platform into Google Distributed Cloud Edge on Intel Xeon 6 processors, demonstrated at Google Cloud Next 2026.
