Hydraflow
Low-pressure fluid couplings, hoses and quick disconnects for aircraft systems
About Hydraflow
Hydraflow designs and manufactures low-pressure fluid transfer components for commercial aerospace, defence and high-technology industries from a 174,000 square foot facility in Fullerton, California. Founded in 1961 by Leonard Edward Ullrich as Hydraflow Supply, an industrial hose distributor with two employees in a converted garage in Maywood, the company moved to the City of Commerce in 1970, found its niche in low-pressure fluid transfer for military and commercial aircraft during the 1970s and built its Fullerton plant in 2002. Today it employs about 350 people and works directly with OEMs and systems manufacturers, supported by independent sales contractors around the world.
Products
- Flexible fluid couplings, including clamshell, threaded and spherical flange couplings, suited to fuel, environmental control, water and waste systems
- Hoses combining flexibility, strength and light weight in a wide range of materials and designs, including custom products such as breathing oxygen hoses
- Quick disconnects that are lightweight and compact with very low pressure drop and no sticking on disconnect
- Specialty manifold and weldment assemblies such as bulkhead mount assemblies and potable water T fittings for demanding applications
- Components supporting water, waste, oxygen, fuel, ECS and coolant systems across many aircraft systems
Quality and culture
Hydraflow is registered to AS9100D with ISO 9001:2015 and is Nadcap certified for fluid distribution systems. It says its products reduce customers' installation time, waste, weight and life-cycle costs, and it pairs them with a culture of service, quality and on-time delivery. Founder Len Ullrich's Midwestern values of hard work, frugality, family and ethics remain central to the company, whose Fullerton site even includes a soccer field for employees pending future expansion. Quotes, design questions and product development requests are handled directly, and the company publishes job openings and a product video.
