Garrett Metal Detectors

Garrett Metal Detectors designs and manufactures sport, security and countermine metal detectors in the United States. Charles and Eleanor Garrett founded the company in their home garage in Garland, Texas, in 1964, and it has grown into a global business whose products are engineered and manufactured in the USA. Garrett reports more than 40 years of security screening expertise, with equipment used at airports, schools, events, government buildings, healthcare facilities, industrial sites and data centres.

Security products

• Walk-through metal detectors for low and high traffic checkpoints, using magnetic field technology designed to reduce false alarms and speed screening, and trusted by airport security and law enforcement
• Hand-held metal detectors for secondary screening in public places
• Replacement kits, batteries and accessories, a configuration and update tool for detection systems, and warranty registration
• Garrett Virtual Academy, an online platform with expert-led courses, product tutorials and certification programmes for security professionals
• A dealer and distributor portal and a blog on screening practice, from weapons detection for large crowds to the safety of airport metal detectors

Countermine and crime scene

The AML-1000 is an all-terrain locator for buried threats such as mines and unexploded ordnance, and the AML-750 is a lightweight locator for compact or rugged terrain. For crime scene investigation Garrett offers the Vortex CSI detector for recovering metallic evidence on all terrains including shallow water, the PRO-Pointer AT Blackline Edition pinpointer, wireless headphones and recovery accessories.

Sport detectors

The sport range covers beginner, mid-range and high-end treasure hunting detectors such as the ACE series, gold prospecting detectors for mineralised ground and the PRO-Pointer AT with Z-Lynk wireless headphones, supported by a treasure hunter's guide and dealers for US and international customers.
