Frontline Aerospace
Developer of the SkyFan ducted-fan business jet concept
About Frontline Aerospace
Frontline Aerospace, Inc. is a privately held company based near Denver, Colorado, that applies business and aerospace expertise to aviation and energy concepts aimed at improving fuel efficiency. Founded in 2007 by entrepreneur Ryan S. Wood, a mathematics graduate with a background in the energy industry and a family legacy in aerospace, the company is developing SkyFan, a clean-sheet super-midsize business jet concept it calls Fancraft, crafted in Colorado.
SkyFan business jet concept
- Boundary-layer ingestion and a high-efficiency ducted fan providing centreline thrust, designed to reduce wasted wake energy and cut fuel burn, combined with a lightweight composite airframe and advanced aerodynamic configuration
- A target range of up to 4,100 nautical miles with a full passenger load, intended to connect more city pairs non-stop with fewer fuel stops
- Take-off and landing on runways as short as 2,100 feet, opening access to thousands of additional airports closer to the final destination
- A stand-up executive cabin with reduced-noise propulsion and the Pandow electronic see-through wall for panoramic digital viewing
- Positioned for fractional operators, charter fleets, corporate flight departments and private owners as a new category combining super-midsize range and cabin with short-field versatility; the company showed SkyFan at NBAA in October 2026 and notes the FAA certification of the GE Catalyst engine in February 2025
