ESROE

ESROE Limited is a UK company in Fareham, Hampshire, that offers software-first radar electronic support measures (ESM) solutions. Its main product, MicroESM, is described as a redesign of radar detection. It is meant to be agile and widely deployable, to bring radar identification, bearing and geolocation to small crewed and uncrewed platforms.

The company describes its sensors as ultra low SWAPC, meaning very small and light with low power demand, which it says makes them almost undetectable. A MicroESM sensor can be used for rapid close-in deployment or for persistent, fully remote operation.

What MicroESM does

• Distributed identification, bearing and geolocation of radar emitters
• Analysis and logging of radar intercept data, with tracking of more than 100 emitters at the same time
• Scaling from a single person-portable sensor to a networked, self-healing array across large areas
• Deep, cross-domain threat intelligence

Air, land and sea use

ESROE describes MicroESM as a force multiplier across all three domains. On land, several passive sensors can augment ground-based electronic sensing to build a picture of the enemy electronic order of battle. In the air, a sensor can be fitted to a UAV or drone to overcome elevation limits that affect land and surface sensors. At sea, the sensors can be extended to insertion craft and patrol boats for non-cooperative target location over wide search areas and better threat warnings.

The company site lists flexible deployment packages and a technical comparison of MicroESM capability, including sensor unit weight in kilograms and bearing measurement accuracy.
