Eclipse Technics

Eclipse Technics is the design and production organisation of Eclipse Global Connectivity, a French company that works in civil, government and military aviation connectivity. It holds EASA design organisation and production organisation approvals, and it designs, certifies and manufactures retrofit installations for airborne connectivity systems.

The company designs connectivity architectures, including antenna installation on the fuselage and cabin network distribution. It manages certification under its EASA design organisation approval. It has delivered more than 600 supplemental type certificates worldwide, with certification programmes run across EASA, FAA, CAAC, ANAC and military authorities.

Under its EASA production organisation approval, Eclipse Technics makes certified installation kits. These include structural parts, electrical harnesses, antenna components, integration hardware and installation documents. Production runs at more than 20 kits a month.

The company acts as the technical integrator for complex connectivity programmes. It brings together antennas, satellite terminals, cabin networks and avionics interfaces, and it works with several suppliers on one programme. Its engineering responsibility sits under a single organisation, which the company says simplifies programme governance.

Eclipse Technics supports fleet retrofit programmes, with experience of programmes involving up to 250 aircraft for a single operator. Its aircraft types include the Airbus A220, A320, A330 and A350, Boeing 737 and 787, and Embraer aircraft. For government and military customers, it works with Bombardier, Dassault, Cessna and Beechcraft aircraft, the Airbus A400M, A330 MRTT and C295, the Lockheed C-130, the Embraer KC-390, rotary wing aircraft and special mission platforms.

The company works with partners such as ThinKom, Kontron and Display Interactive on high-speed connectivity and inflight entertainment solutions for narrow-body fleets. Its customers include airlines, MRO companies, defence contractors and governments.

Eclipse Technics is certified to AS/EN 9100, and the parent group holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certificates. The company has offices in Paris, Toulouse and Aix-en-Provence.
