Acro Aircraft Seating

Acro Aircraft Seating makes passenger seats for commercial airlines around the world. The company was founded in June 2006. It builds seats that are light, strong and easy to maintain. Its work covers design, engineering and service for airline seating programmes.

Acro sells economy class seating and domestic business class seating. Each product comes with add-on options and bespoke changes, so a seat can match an airline's brand. The company launched its Series 8 and Series 6HD widebody products in April 2020, its Series 9 in June 2022 and a new Series 7 in May 2024.

The company set up a factory in Haddenham, Buckinghamshire, in 2007. It received EASA ETSO approval in January 2008 and FAA TSO approval in September 2013. Its first complete shipset was delivered in December 2008. Jet2.com began a trial of Acro seats in February 2008.

Acro has been an Airbus approved linefit supplier since 2017, following its first Airbus linefit delivery in September 2015. The company says it has experience on Boeing 737, 757 and 767 seating programmes, and it delivered its first Boeing seats to Allegiant Air in July 2023. It has a strategic partnership with Saab, and its first Saab delivery was in December 2014. It also works with Fokker and ATR.

The company moved in late 2020 to a 100,000 square foot headquarters in Crick, Northamptonshire. The move added design, development and testing space and a larger EASA Part 145 maintenance area. A second production plant in Shanghai was certified in 2019 to serve the Asian civil aviation market. Acro has been part of Tiancheng Controls since 2017. Tiancheng is part of Zhejiang Science and Technology Investment Company.

Acro uses Lean principles and Kaizen across its business. It was recertified to AS9100 Revision D in September 2024. Customer support operations are in China, Singapore, the United States and the UK. Customers listed on the site include Allegiant, Volotea, Finnair, Condor, Hawaiian Airlines, Frontier and Etihad. In July 2023 the company received an Airbus Premium Supplier Award.
