About DIT-MCO International

DIT-MCO International designs and builds automated wiring analyzers. These systems test wire harnesses, cables and assembled aircraft. The company was founded in 1948 as the Drive-In Theatre Manufacturing Company. In 1954 its engineers built the first automated wiring analyzer, the Model 200. The company name stayed because the military and its suppliers spoke of aircraft being DIT-MCOed.

The Model 2115 is a benchtop analyzer with 1500 volt isolation and a 2 amp continuity test stimulus. An optional AC breakdown test delivers up to 1000 VAC. Its switching can grow to 15,000 test points using expansion units. The Model 2635 is a field portable analyzer with up to 400 test points. The Model 2650 is a modular test analyzer that runs multiple test stations from one controller.

The company also makes software for importing data, conducting tests and generating reports. Its products include NETS, NETS InstallShield, TestAssistant II and translators. The software is Windows based and offers menu driven, point and click test programming. A self programming function can build a test program from a known good assembly.

DIT-MCO also produces cables, harnesses, backplanes, paddle cards, connectors and interface receivers and fixtures. It works with coaxial, twin axial, dual coaxial and twisted wiring. Options include flat, ribbon, woven, braided and shielded cables. The company can customize pin count, lengths, diameters and connector types.

The equipment is used in aerospace, defense, eVTOL and rail programs. DIT-MCO has supported the Apollo program and the Artemis III project. It also supports Navy applications and railcar high voltage testing requirements. Companies like Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier and Embraer use its systems to test complex wiring harnesses.

The company has a long history. Its engineers helped develop high voltage testing specifications that set the standard for the military and its industrial suppliers. In the 1970s, computers made it possible to turn wire lists directly into test programs. In recent years the company has added handheld testers, portable field analyzers and new software.

DIT-MCO says it is celebrating 75 years in business, from drive in theaters to wiring analyzers. The company says its systems support commercial aviation, defense, space, rail and maritime programs. The company says it will keep working on wiring harness and cable testing for the next 75 years.
