Air Trail

Air Trail is an aviation operations software company that serves commercial operators across North America. Its platform joins flight logging, crew scheduling, fleet airworthiness and reporting in one place. The company was founded in 2018 and says more than 40 operators and more than 550 aircraft use it.

Flight operations tools cover digital flight logging, weight and balance, fuel tracking and passenger manifests. Pilots log flights on an iPad with no internet needed, and the data syncs once the device reconnects. Crew tools handle scheduling, duty and rest tracking, training currency and flight time.

Fleet airworthiness tools show technical dispatch status, so dispatch and crews see which aircraft are serviceable. Staff can log defects, apply minimum equipment list references and track deferred items with expiry dates. The system also keeps aircraft configurations current. It works alongside a maintenance system instead of replacing it. Flight hours, cycles and defects flow to the maintenance system, and due items and completed work orders flow back.

Administration tools offer custom operational reports, company forms and links to finance and billing systems. The platform is set up around each operator's aircraft types, rules and workflows. It works under Canadian Air Regulations, including CAR 702, 703, 704, 705, 604 and 406. It also works under US rules, including FAR Parts 91, 121, 135, 137 and 141.

Air Trail serves many kinds of operations. They include helicopter operators, charter, medevac and air ambulance, cargo, scheduled passenger service, private and corporate aviation, flight schools, survey and patrol, and aerial firefighting. Charter users can connect it with ForeFlight and FL3XX. The company designs the platform for operators with 4 to 50 or more aircraft. Most customers run between 10 and 40.
