Cicon Engineering

Cicon Engineering makes cable assemblies and wire harnesses for military, aerospace, space and high-end industrial uses. It is based at 6633 Odessa Ave. in Van Nuys, California. The company says it offers full turnkey production of complex cable and harness assemblies.

Cicon was established in 1988 as a small cable shop. It worked mainly in the military and aerospace field at first. Within five years it entered the space industry and built contacts with prime contractors. The site reports more than 35 years in business. It also says the management team has over a century of combined experience in the wire and cable industry.

The product range covers simple and complex power and signal cables, multi-leg harnesses, and hybrid, coaxial and digital data bus cables. Flight harnesses are also named. The factory capabilities include cabling, molding, braiding and jacketing, high reliability soldering and 1:1 mock ups. The site says it has a clean room built to ISO 14644-1 and -2 Class 6.

Quality work includes X-ray inspection and electrical testing. The company says it is a small business that follows AS9100 and ITAR rules, and that its quality system is certified to AS9100 and ISO 9001.

Each job gets a program manager and a dedicated team that follows the project from start to finish. During quoting and building, Cicon can suggest parts and design changes. The company describes itself as a contract supplier that acts as an extension of the customer team.
