About Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport
Brooksville - Tampa Bay Regional Airport and Technology Center, known as BKV, is a general aviation airport in Brooksville, Florida. It combines the airport with corporate parks. It is aimed at companies that want room to grow and invest.
The airport sits near the Interstate 75 corridor, within reach of the major population centers of the Tampa Bay region. It calls this one of Florida's fastest-growing business corridors. Operations are tower controlled, and the airport describes its runway access as uncongested.
American Aviation runs the full-service fixed base operator at BKV. It offers Jet A and Avgas fueling, aircraft parking and hangar space, maintenance and avionics support, and flight instruction. It also provides passenger and crew amenities and concierge-style customer service. It supports both corporate and general aviation, including flight training and recreational flying.
The airport hosts a mix of tenants. These include aerospace companies, maintenance, repair and overhaul providers, flight training operations, avionics specialists and air ambulance services. Build-to-suit hangar options are available for companies that need space.
BKV has a funded growth plan. It lists 13.6 million dollars in federal funding, a 750,000 dollar state appropriation, approved local support and design help from Duke Energy. The work on the west side includes turning an inactive runway into an active taxiway. The airport says this will open hundreds of acres for aviation, aerospace, manufacturing and industrial use.
The airport names several industry strengths. These are aviation and aerospace, advanced manufacturing, logistics and distribution, corporate aviation and business services, and defense and government contracting. Advanced manufacturing includes medical product development, pharmaceutical-related production and precision industries. Pilots and visitors also get information on hangars, nearby dining, accommodation and outdoor recreation.
