About Beringer Aero

Beringer Aero is a manufacturer of aircraft wheels, brakes and landing gear components based in Tallard, France, with a US subsidiary, Beringer Aero USA, in Greenville, South Carolina. The company designs and produces wheels and brakes for certified and experimental aircraft and states its mission as providing peace of mind during the most critical phases of flight.

Products

  • Wheels machined from aluminium billet, anodised against corrosion and designed for tubeless tyres
  • Brakes with a fixed caliper and floating rotor, and Aerotec+ calipers
  • Nose and tail wheels
  • Master cylinders, brake pressure limiters and regulators
  • SpeedAIR, B'FleX and Shock Wheel products
  • Alaskan landing gear and the Sens'AIR system

Beringer describes its brake pads as bonded rather than riveted to the back plates, with a friction compound whose coefficient rises with temperature to avoid brake fade. Wheels come in red or black as standard, with other anodised colours on request. The company claims weight savings of 1 to 5 kg per aircraft against the equipment it replaces and a design in which every small part is replaceable, with major components maintained on condition. Catalogues, a 2026 list of certified STC kits, service bulletins, servicing manuals and work cards are published on its site.

Cirrus

Beringer Aero wheels and brakes are fitted in serial assembly on Cirrus Aircraft, according to the company's About page, which also names Diamond Aircraft, Extra Aircraft, Elixir, JMB and Magni among the manufacturers that install its products on the production line. The site also lists a 2026 catalogue of certified STC kits for retrofit on existing aircraft; owners should confirm coverage for their Cirrus model with the company.

Approvals

  • EASA Alternative Procedures to Design Organisation Approval (APDOA), granted in 2006, allowing Beringer to design certified wheels and brakes
  • EASA Part 21G Production Organisation Approval, with the DGAC production agreement dating from 2008
  • FAA Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) held by Beringer Aero USA
  • 16 patents covering its technology

Beringer lists distributors in around 30 countries, from Argentina and Australia to the UK and USA, plus a network of US dealers and service centres. Its webshop serves US and EU customers, and technical publications are available online in several languages.
