Beacon Aviation Insurance Services, an Amynta Company, was established in 2008 and is based at 2201 Cantu Court in Sarasota, Florida. It offers insurance coverage to the general aviation industry, working with agents and brokers nationwide, and focuses solely on aviation; many of its employees are active or former pilots and aviation professionals. Its clients include fixed base operators, maintenance, repair and overhaul shops, municipal airports, airline service companies and other aviation businesses, and the firm says it does not believe in one-size-fits-all insurance and risk management programmes.

• Property, inland marine and crime coverage for on-airport businesses, qualifying private hangars and aviation support buildings, including buildings, business personal property, business income, equipment breakdown, tools and property in transit, with admitted coverage on A- rated paper in all states except Alaska and Hawaii

Services and team

Beacon manages and directs all workers' compensation payroll audits in-house on behalf of AmTrust, and publishes guidance on preparing records and classifications for the audit. Claims are reported through AmTrust's 24-hour teams, with aviation general liability claims handled by McLarens. The underwriting team is led by Bennett G. Goldblum, CPCU, AU-M and CAIP, an Embry-Riddle aeronautics graduate who previously worked as a flight instructor, corporate pilot and operations manager for aircraft management companies and FBOs; the team also includes a non-commercial aviation underwriting manager, aviation workers' compensation specialists and a senior premium auditor with 18 years of experience.
