AIG Aerospace is the aviation insurance business of American International Group (AIG), headquartered in New York. It has written aerospace insurance for more than 70 years and covers clients ranging from small aircraft operators to airlines and aircraft manufacturers, across industries from agriculture to airports.

Insurance lines

• Airline insurance: hull and liability for operators from scheduled charter to international wide body airlines, with up to 15 percent of a $2.5 billion liability limit available in a leading or following position.
• General aviation: hull and liability for owners, operators and aircraft management companies, with up to $100 million agreed hull value and $650 million liability limits, including owned and non-owned light aircraft.
• Aviation product liability: for manufacturers, distributors and maintenance, repair and overhaul businesses.
• Airports and service providers liability: for airport operators and ground handlers.
• Unmanned aircraft: physical damage and third party liability for remotely piloted, semi-autonomous and fully autonomous aircraft.
• Specialized workers' compensation units sized to the business.

Claims

AIG runs a dedicated 24/7 aviation claims hotline with aviation adjusters and attorneys. Under its AIG Claims Promise, once coverage, ownership and financial interest in the aircraft are confirmed, it aims to provide working funds of 50 percent of AIG's share of the agreed amount within 7 days.
