About Barnes Aerospace

Barnes Aerospace is a global maker of precision aircraft and engine components. It also repairs turbine engine parts. The company says it has served aerospace for more than a century. Its parent company, Barnes, was founded in 1857 in Bristol, Connecticut, and trades on the New York Stock Exchange. Barnes Aerospace customers work in commercial aviation, defense, industrial and space markets.

On the manufacturing side, Barnes Aerospace works with OEMs and their suppliers. It makes machined and fabricated engine, airframe and nacelle components, plus complex assemblies. The company controls each step of production in house. Its OEM sites are in the United States, the United Kingdom, Poland, Malaysia and Singapore. In the US they include East Granby, East Hartford, Lansing, Ogden, Warren and West Chester. In the UK they include Burnley, Motherwell and Newton Abbot. In Poland they include Rzeszow and BA Technologies.

Barnes Aerospace is also a provider of turbine engine component repair, overhaul and modification. Its repair work falls into three groups: cases and frames, rotating parts, and shrouds and seals. For cases, the team uses electron beam welding and automatic TIG welding, and can replace full sections, struts, bowls, bosses, heat shields and stator vanes. For rotating parts, it refurbishes knife edges and uses plasma spraying, shot peening, hard coating and special painting. For seals, it uses high temperature brazing on turbine shrouds and honeycomb segments.

The company is a source approved supplier for GE, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce and Safran engines. Its repair services cover commercial engines such as the CFM56, CF6, CF34, GE90, PW2000, PW4000, RB211, Trent series and V2500. It also repairs industrial gas turbines such as the LM2500, LM5000, LM6000 and LMS100. Military engine work covers the F100, F110, F117, F118, F119, F135, F404, F414 and TF34.

Repair stations are in Arkansas City in Kansas, East Granby in Connecticut, Warren in Michigan, West Chester in Ohio, Singapore, Taoyuan in Taiwan and Dundee in Scotland. In house capabilities include heat treat, plasma and wire arc coating, vacuum brazing, high pressure water jet stripping, X-ray and non destructive testing, and 5 axis laser machining. A site in Malaysia focuses on the supply of spare parts.

Approvals include FAA, EASA, CAAC, CAAS, JCAB and UK CAA repair station certificates, along with ISO, AS9100 and Nadcap certification. Barnes Aerospace has grown by acquisition. It bought MB Aerospace in 2023 and East Hartford Operations in 2025. In 2026 it added Jet AirWerks and ATL Turbine Services, which it calls its first aeroengine component repair operation in Europe. It also signed an agreement with the Singapore Economic Development Board to explore more capacity in Asia Pacific.
