About Acme Manufacturing

Acme Manufacturing makes robotic metal finishing machines in the United States. The company says it has supplied tools to the metal finishing industry since 1910, which gives it more than 114 years of experience.

Its machines cover deburring, polishing, buffing, grinding and centerless grinding. Deburring machines are built with abrasive makers to suit changing applications. Polishing and buffing machines aim to give steady, high-quality surface finishes at a high production rate. Grinding machines handle parting line removal, weld blending, cut-off and gate removal, and heavy stock removal. Centerless grinding machines process tubes, rods and bar stock with high throughput at low running cost.

Acme also does system integration. Its systems can add technology that gives decision makers measured surface results, such as roughness, tolerance and dimensions. The company is one of the larger FANUC Level 5 Certified Servicing Integrators. Its products are built to RIA 15.06 safety standards, with UL or CE marks when needed.

The company serves many industries. These include aerospace and energy, automotive, consumer products, firearms, foundry work, hydraulic cylinders, medical implants, motorcycles and transportation. It also has a section for maintenance, repair and overhaul work and one for specialty solutions.

Acme says that switching from manual finishing to robotic finishing can give up to five times longer media life. Robotic cells give constant work pressure, repeatable cycle times, programmable force control and lower unit costs. Off-line programming and simulation speed up program development. Remote troubleshooting is possible with a secure connection.

Acme offers parts and services, global customer support, on-site training and documentation, and support during and after installation. It also lists used machines for sale and has an office in Singapore and a network of global partners.
