AVT Simulation

AVT Simulation is an engineering and simulation company in Orlando, Florida, that builds training systems, software and terrain databases for aerospace and defense customers.

The company, formally Applied Visual Technology Inc., has worked in modeling and simulation through engineering services since 1998. It says its founder brought more than 30 years of military training and simulation experience in aviation. AVT says it specializes in making old training systems new again and making new ones for less.

For over 25 years the company has served customers in the Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corps. It aims to fill gaps that traditional suppliers do not cover well. Its stated goal is to be an end-to-end simulation and training provider for aerospace and defense.

AVT offers several services. Custom database work covers terrain databases for flight, ground and maritime training environments, using commercial off-the-shelf tools and known simulation standards and GIS formats. Its engineers support every phase of a project, including task analysis, requirements and design. Software development includes porting and adding new functions to operating systems and upgrading products. The company also provides eLearning and a full set of training solutions, plus consulting, visual systems and manufacturing.

Its products include the Apache Gunnery Trainer, the Targeted Fidelity Aircraft Trainer, the Construction Equipment Virtual Trainer and the Deployable Virtual Training Environment.

AVT is ISO 9001:2015 certified by Intertek and holds a CMMI Maturity Level 3 rating. It is a small business and lists itself as minority-owned and disadvantaged. It works through several US government contract vehicles. The company also says that veterans are an important part of its team.
