3D perception

3D perception makes simulation visual display systems for land, sea, air and space training. It has served aerospace, commercial and defense customers worldwide since 1997. The company has main offices in the United States and Norway, and it has sales and support in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. It also has an office in Orlando.

Its products are sold under the Northstar name. Northstar Display Systems are ready-made, turn-key setups for simulators. The Northstar Technologies range is a modular set of building blocks behind them.

The display line has a model for each type of trainer. Draco is a mini-dome display for fast jet simulators. Titan is a full dome display for fast jets. Atlas is a dome display for fixed-wing aircraft. Lyra is a dome display for helicopter simulators. Other models cover other uses. Cetus is for maritime simulators and Vega is for land vehicles. Gemini serves joint fires simulators. Phoenix is for spacecraft simulators, and Orion is a multipurpose display.

The company supports a system from design through installation and then through its whole life cycle. Its team includes engineers, project managers, installers and support staff. It says it aims to deliver on time and on budget.

Recent news shows the work. In October 2026, the company won a frame agreement from Reiser Simulation and Training for helicopter visual display systems. In April 2026, it delivered a Northstar Aurora system to Saab for SYSIM-T. Its WarpCore technology also powered a first full deployment in an offshore crane simulator.

3D perception holds ISO 9001 certification and CMMC Level 2 certification. It is registered with JOSCAR and belongs to NTSA, the National Center for Simulation and NADIC. It attends events such as the Military Flight Training Summit and I/ITSEC.
