Aircraft Spruce

Aircraft Spruce and Specialty Co. is a long established supplier of parts and materials for certified, experimental and homebuilt aircraft, and for the pilots who fly them. The company traces its roots to 1956, when Bob and Flo Irwin founded Fullerton Air Parts at Fullerton Municipal Airport in Southern California. Fullerton Air Parts grew into one of the largest retail aircraft parts suppliers in the western states. In 1965 the couple started a new business selling aircraft grade spruce lumber for construction and restoration, and added more products until it became the present company. Staff grew from 2 in 1965 to over 300. Jim Irwin acquired the company and became president in 1980.
