About airBaltic
airBaltic is the flag carrier of Latvia. It is based in Riga and connects the Baltic states with more than 60 destinations across Europe and beyond. The company was founded in 1995.
The Latvian state holds 88.37 percent of the voting rights. Deutsche Lufthansa AG holds 10 percent, and private shareholders hold the remaining 1.63 percent.
The airline flies the Airbus A220-300 and says it operates one of Europe's youngest fleets. In February 2025 airBaltic became the first European airline to offer free, ultra-fast SpaceX Starlink internet on board. The website says speeds can reach up to 250 Mbps.
Flights from Riga include London, Rome, Munich, Madrid, Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Stockholm. Through Amsterdam, the airline links Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius to more than 25 destinations. A winter route runs from Riga to Kuusamo in Finland.
Passengers can book flights online with a hotel or car hire, and can fly business class. The Skynet airCafe lets passengers order and pay from their phone on flights with Starlink. Sky Shop sells products on board.
The airBaltic Club loyalty programme lets members earn and spend points. The C airBaltic payment card from Citadele Bank earns Club points on everyday purchases. A Corporate programme offers discounts and flexible tickets, and gift cards are available.
In 2026, Airline Ratings named airBaltic among the world's 50 safest airlines for a second year. APEX gave it a Five Star Major Airline Award and a Best Wi-Fi in Europe Award. The stated mission is to give the Baltic states vital links to the world.
The website also offers a Corporate programme, a C airBaltic payment card and an assisted travel service for passengers who need help. The Sky Shop sells products on board, and the company lists an airBaltic app.
