ACT Airlines

ACT Airlines is a Turkish cargo airline. It operates international scheduled and charter air cargo services. It also specializes in short notice charter flights around the world. The company was established in 2004.

The airline started out to fly unscheduled cargo services. It gave extra capacity to major carriers. This work is known as ACMI, which stands for aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance. The first fleet was two Airbus A300-B4 aircraft. The fleet grew to eight, and the A300s were later phased out.

From 2011, Boeing 747-400 freighters replaced the A300s. ACT Airlines says it is the only Turkish operator flying the 747-400. The website says the airline operates two of these freighters. Together they carry 225 tons.

The airline has held an IOSA certificate since 2007. IOSA is an airline safety audit program. ACT Airlines provides ACMI and ad hoc charter services. Its customers include brokers, freight forwarders, direct shippers and other airlines. It also offers outsourced aircraft operating solutions.

The company also reports business awards. In the 2017 ranking of the top 500 service exporters from the Turkish Exporters Assembly, AirACT came in at number 41 overall. It was number 12 among cargo companies.

Airworthiness is covered on the website. The airline holds a Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization Approval. The Turkish civil aviation authority renewed the certificate after an audit on 16 to 18 October 2017. The airline also notes that its Airworthiness Control Manager was approved by that authority as airworthiness review staff. He can carry out airworthiness reviews under the SHY M and SHT M rules.
