AirModo is a drone insurance app from New York, powered by USAIG, an aviation insurer with more than 90 years of experience. Drone operators buy liability cover in the app by the hour or by the year, for recreational or commercial flying.

What it covers

• Hourly policies from US$9 an hour for US$1,000,000 of liability
• Annual policies from US$400 for a US$1,000,000 limit, worldwide territory
• Liability limits up to US$25,000,000
• Personal injury cover, including invasion of privacy
• Medical payments of US$5,000 included, with US$10,000 or US$25,000 options at no extra premium
• War liability included
• Same price for all drones under 55 lb take-off weight
• No surcharge for night flying and no flight monitoring required
• Concerts and events are not excluded on annual policies
• Safety and loss control services at no charge

AirModo is staffed by licensed manned and unmanned aircraft pilots. The app is free to download for iOS and Android. Many business policies exclude aviation risks; AirModo is built only for drone operators.
