Advanced Scientific Concepts

Advanced Scientific Concepts (ASC) develops real-time, global shutter, solid-state 3D flash LIDAR ranging and imaging systems. The company was founded in Santa Barbara, California, in 1987 by Dr. Roger Stettner, whose team invented and commercialised global shutter flash LIDAR for military, space and commercial applications. ASC Inc. was acquired by Continental Automotive Group in 2016, and Advanced Scientific Concepts LLC now operates from Goleta, California, with Dr. Stettner as chairman, president and chief executive.

Technology

Global shutter flash LIDAR (Gsf-LIDAR) captures a full 3D scene in a single pulse with no moving parts, giving distortion-free range and intensity maps. ASC presents it as the real-time 3D imaging and ranging camera of choice for optical navigation, mapping and situational awareness, including guidance, navigation and control, tracking and augmented reality.
