About Blue Canyon Technologies
Blue Canyon Technologies builds spacecraft buses, components and mission services for small satellites. It is based in Lafayette, Colorado. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon Company, an RTX business.
The website shows 96 spacecraft launched and 4,300 components launched. The company serves commercial, civil and government customers. Its missions range from university led science projects to national defense constellations.
Its spacecraft buses include the Saturn 400, Saturn 200, Mercury 100 and Venus 100 platforms, along with 16U, 12U, 6U and 3U CubeSat buses. The company says it can adapt its standard products to a mission's needs.
Components and subsystems include attitude determination and control systems, avionics, mission enablers, star trackers, reaction wheels and control moment gyroscopes. The nano star tracker is qualified beyond GEVS level environments and holds an onboard catalog of more than 20,000 stars.
Reaction wheels range from 0.015 Nms to 16.0 Nms, and the website says more than 3,300 wheels have been manufactured. Power products include solar arrays, solar array drive assemblies and battery packs.
Mission services include a mission operations team that can manage spacecraft on orbit. The company cites more than 75 years of cumulative on orbit heritage and 325,000 supported contacts. Its integration and test facilities cover vibration, thermal vacuum and high G shock testing.
The company says its spacecraft have flown from very low Earth orbit to lunar and deep space. It states more than 230 years of on orbit heritage for spacecraft, more than 350 years for avionics assemblies and more than 3,600 for components.
