Amazon Leo

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network, an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites. Its stated mission is to deliver internet to customers and communities beyond the reach of existing networks, and its website describes a new era of internet that is coming.

Consumer service

• High-speed internet designed to handle a whole household's needs, including video calls, 4K streaming and fast downloads and uploads at the same time
• Service aimed at rural and remote locations as well as homes elsewhere
• Portable service options planned for customers who travel, with the company saying it wants people to stay as connected as they want wherever they go

Network

The service uses a low Earth orbit constellation rather than ground-based infrastructure, which Amazon presents as a way to reach places that existing networks do not serve.

Shows

Amazon Leo appears in the exhibitor and sponsor lists of the Small Satellite Conference (enterprise session sponsor), the AMOS Conference (sponsor), Aircraft Interiors Expo, NBAA-BACE and the Space Symposium (co-sponsor).
