About TotalEnergies

TotalEnergies is a global integrated energy company headquartered in France that produces and markets oil and biofuels, natural gas, biogas and low-carbon hydrogen, renewables and electricity. It has more than 100,000 employees and industrial and commercial operations in about 120 countries on five continents, and states its purpose as providing as many people as possible with energy that is more affordable, more reliable and more sustainable. In France the company describes itself as a major producer and supplier of energy and related services with around 35,000 employees and a corporate foundation focused on young people.

Key figures for 2025

  • 2.5 million barrels of oil equivalent per day of hydrocarbons produced, 46 percent from gas, and the world's third largest position in liquefied natural gas
  • 39.7 GW of gross installed electricity capacity, including 24.1 GW of renewable electricity
  • 397,000 tonnes of biofuels produced
  • More than 13,000 service stations and nearly 78,000 charge points worldwide
  • USD 17.1 billion invested, of which 21 percent went to low-carbon energy

Biofuels and aviation

TotalEnergies has been a biofuels producer for more than 20 years and aims to lead in biomass conversion, noting that transport accounts for more than 20 percent of global CO2 emissions and that biofuels cut carbon dioxide emissions by at least 50 percent compared with fossil fuels. Its multi-energy strategy rests on two pillars, hydrocarbons and integrated power, with a target to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions from operated activities by 2030 and an approach towards carbon neutrality set out in its Sustainability and Climate 2026 Progress Report. The company supplies aviation fuel and takes part in industry forums on aviation energy, and its recent communications cover methane monitoring with the AUSEA drone-borne technology, the Tyra II gas facility in the Danish North Sea, the Centre Manche 2 offshore wind project in France and the use of AI across the energy value chain.
