TICRA

TICRA develops antenna modelling and RF simulation software used by spacecraft manufacturers and operators, space agencies, earth station suppliers, defence organisations and research institutions. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, the company has worked on antenna analysis for more than 50 years and describes its GRASP software as the industry standard for reflector antenna analysis and optimisation. Many of its staff hold PhDs in electrical engineering, telecommunications or mathematics.

• UQ: uncertainty quantification of antenna performance with confidence intervals
• ARRAY: phased-array antenna design and optimisation, from system-level studies to full-wave optimisation
• SATSOFT: communication satellite antenna design and coverage planning, with a database of cities for mission planning
• SNIFT: spherical near-field test range data management for anechoic chambers
• DIATOOL: antenna diagnostics on satellite platforms

A TICRA Tools Student Edition is available for universities, and technical support and maintenance (TSM) agreements cover updates and expert help.

Applications and research

Customers use the software for satellite payload antennas, radar arrays and signature reduction, earth station shaped Cassegrain reflectors, RF modelling of large deployable reflectors and support of Europe's next generation of weather satellites. Recent work reported on the site includes differentiable simulations for antenna array optimisation and physics-constrained neural networks for electromagnetic surrogate modelling. The TICRA Foundation funds travel grants for researchers.
