Swiipr

Swiipr is a payments company for airlines. It runs a platform that lets airlines send compensation and other payouts straight to passengers and crew. The head office is at Dowgate Hill in London. The company calls itself the first disruption payment platform built just for airlines.

The platform covers flight delays, lost bags and denied boarding. Airlines can pay a whole flight in minutes. Money goes to the phones and wallets of passengers, using virtual cards that work with Apple Pay and Google Pay, or physical cards that can be loaded in advance. The cards run on the Mastercard network and can be spent in stores, online and at ATMs. Airlines can also limit where and when the money is spent. A separate product gives crew spending money in place of cash.

The company says its platform has the rules for disruption already built in, and it can load an airline's own policies. It says it can cut claim processing costs by around 60 percent. The site also states that 4.5 billion dollars is lost each year to slow payout processes. The tool is called SwiiprX. It has reporting for compliance, and it links to existing airline systems through an API first design or deeper technical work.
