StorkJet
Fuel efficiency and aircraft performance software for airlines, Katowice, Poland
About StorkJet
StorkJet is a Polish software company that helps airlines burn less fuel. It analyses an airline's own flight data to measure how each aircraft performs and where fuel can be saved. The company was founded in 2014 by Renata Niedziela, its CEO, and is based in Katowice.
Products
- FuelPro: a fuel dashboard that tracks savings across 48 fuel initiatives and shows where the real saving potential is
- FlyGuide: an electronic flight bag app for pilots, with pre-flight planning and simple feedback after each flight
- FlyGuide FPO: flight plan optimisation
- AdvancedAPM: automatic aircraft performance monitoring that gives precise performance factors for fuel planning, for every aircraft type
How it works
StorkJet has analysed more than 10 million flights, from turboprops to the largest long-haul jets. From this data it built tail-specific performance models that predict fuel burn in almost any conditions and flight phase. The company says the average error is only a few kilograms per flight hour. The models use more than 50 flight parameters and do not depend on the aircraft manufacturer's data.
Numbers the company reports
- 1,700 aircraft use StorkJet solutions
- 12,000 pilots use the FlyGuide app
- 2.6 million flights optimised each year
- 653,000 tonnes less CO2 each year
- Up to 4% lower fuel cost
- 7 innovation prizes and 6 EU research grants
