Airotec
Certified airport software for international and regional airports in Poland
About Airotec
Airotec is a Polish software company for airports. It builds airport weather systems and a drone-based system that checks airfield lights. Its slogan is reliable tech for a safer sky. The company says its software is proven at both international and regional airports.
Airotec AWOS is its airport weather monitoring software. It comes in two versions, AWOS and AWOS GA, and the right one depends on the operating conditions of the airport or landing site. There is also a general aviation version sold as software as a service. The company offers a demo so airports can try the software before they commit.
DeFI is the company's patented method for inspecting visual aids with a drone. It checks approach, runway and taxiway lights and PAPI lights. Checks can be done for commissioning, on a regular schedule or every day. The company says DeFI needs 3.5 minutes to calibrate a PAPI. An airport can also run DeFI itself. The company says this lets the airport depend less on outside flight inspection services and cut high costs. Airotec also offers flight inspection and lists a product called NAMS.
Airotec says its team has 15 years of experience with airports and that more than 21 airports are customers. DeFI clients include Warsaw Modlin, Wrocław, Szczecin, Olsztyn-Mazury, Rzeszów, Katowice, Kraków, Łódź and Lublin in Poland. Others include Glasgow, Aberdeen and Blackpool in the UK, Vancouver, Edmonton, Hamilton and Lethbridge in Canada, Roma Ciampino in Italy, Cottbus in Germany, Zilina in Slovakia, Rotorua in New Zealand and L.F. Wade in Bermuda.
The company has installed its weather software at Nong Khang Airport in Laos, more than 8,500 km from its office. It also installed a software-as-a-service version at Gliwice in Poland.
Airotec follows international standards from ICAO, the World Meteorological Organization and EASA. It runs its own safety management system. Its quality system is certified to ISO 9001:2015.
