Stack Metallurgical Group (SMG) is a US metal processing company with a history dating back to 1946 that provides heat treating, hot isostatic pressing, aluminium chemical processing and related services to aerospace, medical implant, machining, foundry and other customers across North America. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, the group operates four facilities on the US west coast and describes its purpose as the vital link between raw materials and finished products, built on long-term customer relationships, continuous investment in equipment and technology, and a commitment to integrity.

Locations

Stack Portland is the group's largest facility at 75,000 square feet and offers the widest range of services, with extensive vacuum, endothermic and aluminium heat treating capacity plus specialised processes for industries from aerospace to medical implants and high-end cutlery. Stack Spokane, formerly Inland Northwest Metallurgical Services, offers heat treating for nearly any material and extensive induction heat treating. The Salt Lake City site is home to Aerospace Aluminum Processing (ASAP), a 25,000 square foot facility specialising in heat treatment, chemical processing, painting and inspection of aluminium components, which Boeing Salt Lake describes as one of its main local outside processing houses. Testimonials on the site come from Altek, Spokane Steel Foundry, Heating Induction Systems and a tier one aerospace supplier in Portland. The group is associated with the Pacific Northwest Defense Coalition and the Metal Treating Institute.
