The company leases helicopters to operators and end users around the world. It offers flexible financing and leasing solutions for mission-critical and sustainable helicopter operations. Its services include technical oversight, asset transitions and remarketing support. The company says it is built for long-term partnerships.

SMFLH began in 2020 as a helicopter leasing joint venture between SMFL and LCI. It expanded through the acquisitions of LCI and Macquarie Rotorcraft Limited. The company describes itself as the world's fastest-growing helicopter lessor.
In July 2026 the company closed a loan facility with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation and Japanese commercial banks. The facility totals about US$302 million, 79 million euros and 6 million pounds. The company's news page lists this as its latest update.
The team includes senior leaders for commercial, finance, technical, strategy and operations roles, with a chairman and a chief executive officer. Offices are listed on the contact page in Dublin, Limerick, London and Singapore. Press releases and social media updates are published on the site.
