Sky-Watch
RQ-35 Heidrun and RQ-70 tactical ISTAR UAVs engineered in Denmark
About Sky-Watch
Sky-Watch is a Danish defence technology company based at Østre Allé 6F in Støvring that builds frontline-ready ISTAR capability: tactical UAV platforms, sensor payloads, distributed edge compute and AI-assisted mission software engineered in Denmark, deployed with NATO and allied forces and refined through battlefield feedback, including frontline deployment in Ukraine since 2022. The company describes itself as a European defence-tech company building proven, sovereign capability, and its parent company is The AIRO Group of McLean, Virginia.
UAV platforms
- RQ-35 Heidrun, a hand-launched, backpack-portable UAV for single-operator field use that gets close fast, with deployment in under 15 minutes and deep-stall recovery, built for ISTAR under electronic warfare pressure and GNSS-degraded conditions
- RQ-70, a deep-reach platform configurable for fixed-wing range, long-range endurance or VTOL flexibility, offering extended time on station and onboard processing for detection, recognition and identification, visual navigation and call-for-fire workflows
- Shared payload logic, ground control station architecture and mission software across both platforms
Zentra sensor payloads
- Zentra-35 EO/IR with 4K resolution, 50x EO and 4x IR zoom and fused EO/IR imaging, plus EO-only and IR-only variants for long-range identification and night operations
- Zentra-Nav EO and IR navigation payloads using visual tracking and map correlation when GNSS degrades
- Image stabilisation, enhancement and onboard processing that keep the sensor picture usable as light, weather and bandwidth change
Mission software and interoperability
- AI-assisted workflows from planning and control to handoff and reporting, moving intelligence from the tactical edge to operational depth
- Interoperability with ATAK, DELTA, SitaWare and other C4I systems and STANAG 2934
- Lessons from operational use fed quickly into engineering, software and support
