North Carolina's Southeast

North Carolina's Southeast is a public and private economic development group. It works to bring new companies and jobs to a region of North Carolina. The site uses the short name NCSE. The office is in Elizabethtown, North Carolina.

The site says NCSE provides confidential services to business owners, site consultants and industrial real estate leaders around the world. These services help companies find the assets they need to grow. The group works with business and government leaders as one partnership, called The Southeastern Partnership, which is a 501c6 organization.

The region has a large workforce. The site lists a labor force of more than 923,800 people and a military labor force of more than 132,000. It also lists seven military installations. The site gives a 3.74 percent unemployment rate, an average workforce age of 37.9 years, and 39.7 percent of the workforce with an associate's degree or higher. It says more than 20,000 people leave the military each year.

The site names five target industries: advanced textiles, agri-business and food processing, aerospace and defense, distribution and logistics, and metalworking. Aerospace and defense is one of the main areas the group promotes.

The site lists totals since 1996 of $4.9 billion in new capital investment, 21,006 new jobs and 215 company locations. A separate report covers April 2017 to April 2025. It lists 6,661 announced jobs and $2.5 billion in investment from new company locations.

The news section includes several recent projects. A railroad products maker, Omega Industries, plans to invest $3.5 million and create 20 jobs in Fayetteville. The Port of Wilmington received about $6 million in federal funding for truck parking and cargo handling. QT Corporation plans to invest more than $49 million and create 188 jobs in Goldsboro. In Kinston, a ribbon-cutting was held for a U.S. Navy military aircraft maintenance complex that the site says will bring more than 400 jobs.
