About Mission Microwave Technologies

Mission Microwave Technologies, LLC makes Gallium Nitride (GaN) based Block Upconverters (BUCs) and Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs) for satellite communication. The company was founded in 2014 to create a new generation of these amplifiers, using GaN transistors, a power combining technology and full-system designs. Its products cover X, Ku and Ka band from 10 to 1000 watts and are meant to support ground-based, airborne and space-based applications. The site describes the design goal as optimising size, weight and power so that the units are compact and light.

Customers come from commercial and government sectors. The company serves mission-critical applications, and it says its amplifiers are suited to mobile, transportable and fixed terminals.

Product lines

  • Ka band: BUCs and SSPAs including the 12 watt Flatpack, 20 watt Cube, 25 watt Stinger, 50 and 100 watt Javelin (with wideband versions covering 27.5 to 30 GHz), 200 watt Titan, and 250 and 400 watt MOAB units, among them a 400 watt MOAB SSPA
  • Ku band: BUCs such as the 55 watt Stinger and a 200 watt linear MOAB BUC. The company says these are made for reliable performance and uptime in variable weather, and are suited to maritime, aviation and enterprise links
