CesiumAstro
Software-defined communications for space, air and ground
About CesiumAstro
CesiumAstro designs, manufactures and tests communication systems and satellites in facilities in the United States. It provides full stack infrastructure for agile space communications, with software defined systems for space, air and ground missions. The company's mission is to industrialise space and defence communications.
Element-1 is a fully integrated satellite for end to end communications and ISR missions. It is launched and on orbit, and the company says it is connected and operating.
The Vireo Ka 576 and Vireo Ka 288 are Ka band payloads that use phased arrays for multi beam operation. The Ka 576 supports up to 16 beams and more than 15 Gbps of payload capacity. The Ka 288 is a TRL 8 payload for SDA Tranche class proliferated LEO constellations, and Ka band payloads are shipping to Rocket Lab for the SDA Tranche 2 transport layer.
The Skylark mobile SATCOM terminal serves air, ground and maritime platforms. Nightingale is a single beam Ka band phased array payload. CesiumAstro also makes software defined radios, including a UHF radio for lunar surface missions, a compact SDR for LEO and airborne use and a 3U SpaceVPX SDR that covers 600 MHz to 12 GHz.
Applications include inter satellite links, high speed data downlinks, lunar communications, multi beam connectivity, 5G non terrestrial networks and SATCOM connectivity. Its phased array payloads combine antennas, beamforming, processing, firmware and software into flight ready systems.
CesiumAstro is expanding domestic production capacity and strengthening supply chains. Its values are integrity, optimism, customer focus, tenacity, entrepreneurial spirit, ingenuity, effectiveness, camaraderie and fun. The company also supplies a Vireo Ka payload for Taiwan's first national communications satellite constellation.
