About Metropolitan Airports Commission
The Metropolitan Airports Commission, or MAC, is a public organisation in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. It is an 800 person organisation that owns and operates Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and six reliever airports.
MSP is described as one of the busiest airports in the country and a hub for Delta Air Lines. The MAC leases retail, passenger services and food and beverage concessions space there. It also offers strategic partnership opportunities to businesses that want to reach travellers.
The six reliever airports are general aviation airports. They are Airlake, Anoka County-Blaine, Crystal, Flying Cloud, Lake Elmo and St. Paul Downtown. All are within 35 miles of the Minneapolis and St. Paul downtowns. They draw traffic away from MSP and support corporate travel, flight training and recreational flying.
Doing business with the MAC covers solicitations, permits, vendor opportunities, real estate, ground and hangar leasing, and small and disadvantaged business programmes. It also covers event, filming and assembly spaces at MSP. There is a 2026 concessions RFP.
A 15 member Board of Commissioners represents parts of the metro area and the state. Community topics cover RNAV, aircraft noise, economic impact, public hearings, public safety and public records requests.
Recent news includes a call for public input on the future of St. Paul Downtown Airport. Upcoming events include the MSP NOC fall listening session and an airport construction projects preview.
