Maurice Ward

The Maurice Ward Group is a freight forwarding and logistics company with facilities across Europe. It also provides warehousing and customs clearance, and it was founded in Dublin, Ireland, in 1968.

The group offers total supply chain management. It says it can follow an order from the moment a purchase order is placed with a vendor until the goods reach the final customer. One proprietary IT platform tracks purchase orders along the whole chain, from the factory door through distribution centres to the end user. The platform can be linked to a customer's own planning system. It was launched in 1996.

Its facilities are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Customers come from many fields, from automotive and aerospace to retail and electronics. The group also handles art and project cargo. It runs an express road service and a European road fleet, which it says it modernises regularly.

The group is a licensed customs broker and an Approved Economic Operator. It also has a duty and VAT management division that helps customers deal with Europe. Quality is held to ISO 9001 and TS 16949 standards. Earlier milestones include IATA accreditation in 1973, first ISO 9001 certification in 2003 and TAPA A certification in 2008.

The company has grown by opening its own facilities. It opened in Shannon in 1989 and Prague in 1995. Later sites include Budapest, London, Vienna, Frankfurt, Amsterdam Schiphol, Warsaw, Hamburg, Manchester, Milan, Zurich, Lisbon, Madrid, Antwerp, Athens, Rome, Oslo, Belgrade, Helsinki and Istanbul. A Northern Ireland office opened in 2023.

The group also has a manufacturing arm and a software business in its portfolio. It serves customers in many languages, including German, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Greek and Chinese.
