ABL

ABL is an independent MRO company based near Rome in Italy. It looks after emergency and life support equipment for aircraft. It also has a site in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

The company started in 1993. At first it gave engineering help for mostly military projects in Italy. Today it handles maintenance, testing, repair, overhaul and refilling of emergency items. These include evacuation slides, life rafts, life vests, oxygen bottles, fire extinguishers, floatation systems for helicopters and main emergency batteries. It also works on emergency locator transmitters, headsets and megaphones.

ABL runs three kinds of service. These are maintenance, supply of parts and exchange of certified components. It can also lend slides, oxygen bottles, rafts and fire extinguishers when a customer needs them. It offers AOG service on request from both locations.

The head office, component division and research and development team are in Pomezia, south of Rome. The site covers 1,500 square metres and serves mostly European customers. The component division in Abu Dhabi covers 720 square metres. It serves customers in the Middle East and Africa.
