Lynred

LYNRED is a French manufacturer of infrared detectors and thermal imaging modules, formed from the merger of Sofradir and ULIS. For 40 years the company has designed and manufactured high-performance infrared detectors for thermal imaging systems used in demanding environments, and it describes itself as a European leader in infrared thermal imaging. It operates worldwide through two subsidiaries, LYNRED-USA and NIT (New Imaging Technologies), which supplies SWIR imagers from Verrieres-le-Buisson near Paris.

• Microbolometers, including the YOCTO ultra-compact 8 micron pixel microbolometer and SXGA products for photon-limited conditions
• Infrared modules, including the ARGO SL compact detector for drones and ARGO MW SL

The range covers the infrared spectrum from SWIR to VLWIR through five technologies, and products are designed for applications with tight size, weight and power constraints.

Markets

LYNRED serves eight strategic markets: defence, space, security and surveillance, drones and unmanned systems, hunting and leisure, environment (optical gas imaging, thermography and firefighting), industrial vision and automotive. In automotive, it is working on night vision for pedestrian detection under the FMVSS 127 regulation. The company invests 15 percent of revenue in research and development each year and holds more than 500 active patents. It leads SPIRIT, a strategic European project.
