Dynamic measurement technology for aerospace testing

About Kistler
The Kistler Group is a family-owned Swiss company specialising in dynamic measurement technology for pressure, force, torque and acceleration. Headquartered in Winterthur, Switzerland, with more than 60 years of experience, it supplies piezoelectric sensors, measurement systems and services, from sensor to cloud, to industry and science, including aerospace and aviation testing.
Products
- Piezoelectric sensors for pressure, force, torque and acceleration
- Multi-channel laboratory measurement systems such as KiBox Lab, a charge amplifier with integrated data acquisition
- The 2071A FSI fibre optic sensor for high-speed, distributed strain measurement immune to electromagnetic interference
- Electromechanical NC joining modules, wheel torque transducers and tool monitoring for machining
- Software and the myKistler customer portal
Aerospace and testing
Kistler equipment is used in aerospace and aviation testing, including rocket propulsion tests, a success story on its site describing Faraday Rocketry's use of Kistler measurement for New Space engines. Its sensors also serve towing tank tests used to study how helicopters and aeroplanes behave in emergency landings on water, and the company presents its test and measurement systems at aerospace test and space exhibitions.
Organisation
The group operates sales centres, service centres for calibration and repair, competence centres for product development and production centres across Europe, the Americas and Asia, with locations including Winterthur, Sindelfingen, Karlsruhe and Chemnitz in Germany, Les Ulis in France, Granollers in Spain, Almere, Vienna, Prague, Bratislava, Amherst in New York, Mississauga, Sao Caetano do Sul, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Kistler publishes a supplier code of conduct and its stated mission is transforming physics into innovation, safety and sustainability.
